I know, I know! It’s still summer. But I blame Michaels. The amazing Canadian craft store that takes all my money. At the beginning of June, Michaels came out with this line of fall decor items that just oozed romance. Dusky rose, mint green, and dark peaches. All in traditionally fall items like pumpkins, leaves and pine cones. I was instantly enchanted.
Ok, reality, I was instantly shocked that I was seeing pumpkins in the beginning of June, but the next instant I was enchanted.
When I think of fall, dark pastels are not the colours I think of. It was the first time that I really saw those colours on fall decor. Maybe I missed them last year. But I love this colour palette right now, and I’m so stoked that I can continue it in my fall decor.
And I became so pumped that I can continue it in my stock photography game.
July and August is the time for me to begin to think about and photograph autumn themed images. I’ll usually break out my box of fall decor and start planning shots with this rustic theme. But now! Now I can still dream in shades of pink while providing fall content.
I’ve also been looking around the various stock photo sites that I post to, and I wasn’t seeing much similar content. So I’m really excited to be able to create content for people that are looking for soft, feminine fall themed images.
Is anyone out there interested in this different fall colour palette? Is it as dreamy and romantic to you as it is to me? Let me know in the comments below! And stay tuned for a follow up post where I go into some of my favourite photography props. You can see one of them posted here in my Etsy Shop.
Check me out on Pinterest! I’m currently pinning some awesome pastel fall decor to swoon over, along with many other feminine boards curated just for you.
Until next time,
Emily Rose
